Merciful Prayer Poem by Scot Warren

Merciful Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the lord my soul to take

But doing so would be a mistake
The lord may not be willing to make
For I belong in the devil’s lake
And for eternity my soul shall ache
