Mesmerized Poem by Jonathan Platt

Mesmerized

My eyes are drawn to that boundless expanse,
Where mystery and beauty and enchantment romance...
And each star spreading its elegant glow
'Til their sphere of light into eternity flows;
Such wonders sublime-woven o'er meek earth,
Where countless marvels are given celestial birth -
Endless layers of splendor and overwhelming pleasures,
Spectacles divine adorned with unattainable treasures,
All visions of a greater design, and soundlessly fashioned,
A magnificence that stirs all my fears and my passions.
But then she speaks softly, and I suddenly realize -
I was lost in her eyes again...I was lost in her eyes.
