I am good
Messages I never heard
He didn't know
I needed to hear
I am seen
I am known
Every day he said hello
But he wasn't
Ever really there
I am cared for
I am safe
He gave me food and clothing
He didn't know
That wasn't enough
I am pretty
I am smart
If he ever had he never gave
What I needed
Was more than stuff
I am important
I am worth it
Now he doesn't understand
What he didn't say
Determined how I felt
I am wanted
I am loved
He watches from the outside
Now I hear it
From someone else
