Metamorphosis Poem by Jonny Brackney

Metamorphosis

a cold,
desperate wind
blows through me
tonight
as i paint my eyes
with the pale city glow.
a flame of passion
dwindles inside.
my mind, dispersed
like puddles on the asphalt.
holding myself
with my own two arms,
i realize
i'm not going
anywhere.
