Metaphysical Technological Terror Poem by thomas mofford

Metaphysical Technological Terror

Rating: 2.8

The cybernetic
computerized
transistorized
society

The vertigo of the sensibility
in the world of terror
The brink of disaster
close to the gate of paradise
Stars and the tide
chance and discipline
A Fisher Devil
sitting on a large clam
Sungirl feeling of loneliness
in an unresponsive world
The need to act
against the ruin of the world
There is only one defense
the creative act
Mysterious inner compulsion
reconciliation ecstasy
Open the cage

I love the title and the first lines; cybernetic, computerized, transistorized..I love the way the poem briskly moves from a robotic society, to armageddon, to the savior of the world by it's artists..and the final word, of course..if art could save the world; this poem would make a good start.
