Mi Amor Poem by Ariel Miles

Mi Amor

My love for you now
hides within words unspoken
and emotions that I fail to express
But throughout time
these things have built up and
unexpectedly began to overflow
so pardon me for blurting out this secret
this affaire' d amoure
but
i love you with all of my heart
every vein, every vessel
every teardropp to hit a page at the thought of you
& clearly
you mean the world to me
scratch that
worldly affairs mean nothing to me
but you,
you mean to me what crack means to fiends
what the bible means to advocates of christianity
what sudden exposure to sound would mean to a deaf kid as well as sight to the blind
you blow my mind
i mean
your kisses always seem to be
the sudden death of me
time freezes as our lips collide
love's the slowest form of suicide
i mean
you are my everything
my music, my poetry, my smile
my tears
of joy
my love
mi amor
you are
the complete opposite of what I invisioned my perfect match to be
But, let them shun and disown
i don't care anymore
we'll get through it
I heard them say
bew careful who you choose to love
because somebody
somewhere
won't approve it
