Michael Moss Poem by Francis Duggan

Michael Moss

Have you ever without reason suddenly burst into tears
Michael Moss is one like that i know i have known him for a few years
For his wife Nell and their only child Joe they died ten years ago
And without seemingly any reason I've seen tears from his eyes flow.

'Twas in a motor accident they died when their car crashed into a wall
Of all of his life crosses this the heaviest of all
His then thirty five years old wife and ten year old son living never more to see
The pain of loss it is still with him and of it he may never be free.

Michael he has not re-married and he leads a lonely life
Since he has lost the son he has loved and his beloved wife
It is said that time heals all grief yet in his case this not so
After ten years he's still grieving for his beloved Nell and Joe.

In the Park i often see him though having said that not every day
But one can sense from Michael that tears are never far away
A man in his late forties his brown hair is turning gray
His sense of loss is still with him and that does seem sad to say.
