Might Up In Arms Against Slight Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Might Up In Arms Against Slight

Sensing a secluded sarcastic mumble
Mighty ocean, holding up her breath
Commiserating chase, paused the pace
As if, to scan the universe of distance

Suspending lathered wavy giggle
Stared, in wrath and malevolence
At the tiny little fresh water spring
In a cleft on the hill, up and far distant

Ocean caste a heroic daring look,
Questioning - Do I depend on you……,
You infinitesimal soggy drop …?
Damn you….smutty…rutty … nutty drip!

With all her oceanic might
In anger, rant and rave
Let out the bunged up lingered gasp
Phew wwwwww……phoo…hhhh!
As a ghastly, holocaust wave
Kissing coconut crowns
Forty feet above head in blue sky

Some clocks stopped for good
Others, ticked on, unharmed
Spring still moves on, regardless
Ocean too carries on, on and on!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Power is a global concern of every individuals interest. How the power is gained and for what, are a few basic but extremely wide questions. The tiny little spring up on the distant hill feeds ocean in what ever capacity it has. Unconcerned about it, the proud mighty ocean, takes it that this spring, which is of no interest to her, tries to be too much, and I should give a warning. On and often Ocean attempts to exercise her might on smaller ones by lifting her head in Tsunami form, and roaring, for others to see and feel.

This is an analogy to human power struggle that prevails in the world.
