MIGOMO

Somo hili si jipya, lilikwepo tangu zama.
Lilianza kwa chafya, badaye kifua kwama.
Ludizimu wapitiya, Bosheviki kaja nyuma.
Wote yaliwaingiya, kwa hakika walizama.

Mikwala mwawachimbiya, bado kamba washikia.
Risasi ziliingiya, mateso kuvumilia.
Siku zote waliliya, walimwamini jaliya.
Walitamani kufikiya, waoga walikimbiya.

Waamke wa zuoni, hakizo wapate wapi?
Wapingwa eti wahuni, na wale walo makapi.
Somo lao darasani, uongo wao u wapi.
Kasuku ye hurudiya, wasomi huzipembua.

Wajipanga kwa kupenda, asukumwaye ni punda.
Washaona wanakwenda, kwenye kiza kilotanda.
Wanapunjwa wanakonda, hai washonewa sanda.
Migomo yao fundisho, Serikali mujipange.

Walilia wanokuja, japo waone bahari.
Wachote au kuonja, i tamu au shubiri.
Shahada na kuuchinja, Elimu ije sitiri.
Elimu bora silaha, masikini pigania.

Migomo si nia yao, wanataka haki zao.
Walianza kwa vikao, hamkujali hoja zao.
Mwaalikwa mje kwao, musikize hoja zao.
Masikio mwayafunga, macho yenu kwa luninga.

Tamati napigilia, moto mwingi napalia.
Wao nawakimbilia, wasije wakaachia.
Mwanangu anililia, urithi sijamwachia.
Migomo ndo somo mwana, hakizo tajipatia.

poet Henry David Thoreau

Whate'er we leave to God, God does,
And blesses us;
The work we choose should be our own,
God leaves alone.
