Migrant Worker's Joy Poem by U Win Kyi

Migrant Worker's Joy

After 3 years, the contract ends finally,
Home-coming day arrives joyfully.
This is the day I wait long and patiently.
Meeting again my family will be blissfully.
Buying for them a house for living decently.
And TV, refrigerator and car for enjoying the life luxuriously.
Educating my children for passing distinctively,
All these are the fruit of work I did diligently.
And my wife's effort of saving meticulously,
Thanks for God's blessing she prays regularly,
3 years of ordeal in foreign country ends uneventfully.

But fate has dealt a heavy blow to my friend unfortunately.
His wife has an affair secretly.
His children perform at school poorly.
He spends money foolishly.
His home-coming is with both hands empty.
All his plan gone nasty.
His future thrown into jeopardy.
He regrets it very sorrowfully.

I realise that money is not everything deeply.
I learn only love of each other can stick together permanently.
No wealth can compensate the broken family completely.
' Never to live apart again.' is the vow I make solemnly.
Through thick and thin, we will live happily.

I really do like this poem. I love the sentiments expressed as to hard work and saving, but mostly those relating to family. Family, this is our real treasure on this earth. Thanks. this is a strong 10. Richard
