Mirror Poem by Je'free Y .

Mirror

Mirror, vivid details of my truest soul:
A crystal clear lake, translucent pool,
A fusion of silica, silver coating, light
Imprisoning the vain and fairest of them all.

My chemical self conceived for truth,
Reminding me of aging, mortality,
Enlightening my mind
With its absolute precision.

Why would I consult a fortune teller
When you possess the accuracy
To reflect my past, my history-in-the-making,
And who I could, or would possibly be?

I will preserve you in my verses
That confess your extraordinary honesty,
And in my bible of poems, I am writing,
With you as the holy muse.

Metal-like, personal guru, you counsel.
Replication of a neophyte & pro, sinner & saint,
With your harsh and tender authenticity,
Guiding me towards reinvention, progression.
