Misplaced Honor Poem by Claude H Oliver II

Misplaced Honor

Rating: 5.0

We give honor to the unseen
Creator
Giver of life
Protector
Destroyer
Yet we have ease disparaging those before us
Our true creators
Pioneers
Warriors on the human front
Pavers of our way
They who honored us by their very being
Who searched their very souls
We call primitive
Unlearned
Unsophisticated
Lacking polish, finesse
Yet we are their creation
Creation creating present and future
That creation - us walking among us
Can we not see that to love each other
Honors us all - past, present and future.
