Misreading Of Smiles Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Misreading Of Smiles

Rating: 5.0

You are gifted to naturally smile
but I go into raptures by your meek glance.
Your innocence doesn’t mean you’re frail;
yet a look at you fells me into trance.

My manners might make you to be in delight.
But I misread it and fly to the fanciful realm.
Your mere presence does my unbridled wings flight
and you seem to nod at me to take the helm.

Your smile weaves a spell over me to stumble
and I’m lost in daydreams by your sparkling eyes.
If your eyes deny gleam my heart will crumble.
But don’t give in to hear my anguished cries.

I can’t pretend to love time and again in life
and cheat those I meet with fake vows to be in strife.
