Missed Opportunity Poem by Richard Theze

Missed Opportunity

Rating: 5.0

You knocked
Too quietly
Upon my door
Whispered
Too quietly
Your name
Opportunity
I thought
I heard you say
I knew you not
We hadn’t met
I dared not
Take the chance
To trust
So perfect a stranger
And so
The moment passed
And
So did you

I feel that we, or perhaps I in particular, often miss important opportunities in life simply because we do not recognise them.
