Mistakes Poem by Carolyn Brunelle

Mistakes

Last night she slept
for the first time
in a week
without tears
to remind her
of her humanity;
her shortcomings.

She prayed instead
to be
forgiven;
it seemed
to release her
from the prison
of sadness.

Maybe they can talk of it soon,
laugh again;
move on.

The love in their hearts
has to mean more
than any mistakes
made along the way.
