Tried so many times to let go
Telling myself to give up
Never going to happen
But I know in my heart
This is real-this is what I want
Every word that is said
Every poem that is read
Touches this empty heart
Making it feel whole again
Light that shines through
This darkness
Try so hard not to let it
But the real I want to
Break free from these barriers
And show the love I have
Cause without you-I'm empty
So afraid to love once more
Afraid to feel the heartache
The pain in the pit of my stomach
Aching memories of the past
Comes back to haunt
Reminding not to trust
To keep my guard up
Never let it down-never let love show
But this heart wants so much
To feel that love-to feel that passion
To be held like two lovers
Embraced as one
To be like the elderly couple
Taking their morning walks
With hands entwine and still
Giving that look
I want the life of endless love
Cause I know in my heart
It is out there-it is real! ! !
