Moderate Islam Poem by gershon hepner

Moderate Islam

Radical Muslims blow up towers,
but the clever moderates choose
sucking up to western powers,
claiming only to hate Jews
ruling clearly all the world,
as explained in protocols
of Zion, with support that’s hurled
by Islamic protopols,
teaching in madrasas hate
of the western way of life,
striving to eliminate
Jews, the source of stress and strife.
Awkward facts make some afraid,
politically not quite correct,
but evasiveness will aid
promotion of the Islam sect:
determining the fate of Jews
who are victims of these libels
requires that we must accuse
those who spread them in their bibles.

The Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad declared that Jews rule the world. President Bush called his comments “wrong and divisive” and Condoleeza Rice said that she thought they were not representative of the Muslim world. Fouad Ajami, professor of Middle Eastern studies at Johns Hopkins University, has pointed out that the political approach of Islam rejects Western scientific method. This was proved by Mr. Mahathir’s response to criticism of his remarks. “The reaction of the world shows that they control the world.” Chip Bok of the Akron Beacon Journal has a cartoon the right side of which shows the destruction of the Twin Towers with the caption: Radical Islam. The left side shows the Malaysian Prime Minister saying: “Jews rule the world, ” with the caption: “Moderate Islam.” David Rohde analyzes the seductive new voice of Islam in an article in The New York Times on October 26,2003 (“Don’t Tread on Us: Radical Islam Gains a Seductive New Voice.” He writes:

“You are explaining events that are painful to the public, for which the public has no other explanation that is available, and over which the public has no power, ” said Shibley Telhami, a professor at the University of Maryland and a member of a Bush administration panel that recently surveyed Muslim attitudes and found “shocking levels of hostility” toward the United States. 'They put forth a theory that explains that the responsibility lies with someone else.' The Islamist groups are keenly political, often with excellent organizational and public relations skills. In Pakistan, for example, a coalition of religious parties that received only 11 percent of the popular vote in parliamentary elections last year has turned itself into the country's main opposition group.
