Modern Nomads Poem by gershon hepner

Modern Nomads

Rating: 5.0

In search of cocktails that are varnished
modern nomads wander through the hotel lobbies;
expense accounts are rarely garnished
while in the bar oases they indulge their hobbies,
first drinking, which relieves the pain
that’s caused by travel and the unfamiliar bed,
then finding often that the strain
of being faithful causes morals to be shed.

The tents the modern nomads pitch
in unfamiliar places where they spend the night
provide a stage for those who itch
to taste some unfamiliar, unprogrammed delight.
Accepting plastic, every host
is generous, and for breakfast champagne may be served,
but traveling from coast to coast
leaves modern nomads to be burned like homemade toast.

I love he title and you deal with the topic of stay away partners very well. This reminds me of one of my first jobs as receptionist in the hotel industry Gershon! It was posh and encouraged reps, there is nothing like an expense account to kill that pain for sure! lol Madly in love at the time, so missed out! lol Tai
