Molly Poem by Maureen Pickford

Molly

After noisily suckling
My daughter,
You settle into my lap.
A heavy-weight of happiness;
I'm coshed by oxytocin!

Your podgy little fists
Grab my out-stretched palm
Either side. You slowly pull my hand
Towards your cheek.

You fix me with
Your steady gaze;
Yes darling, I'm your Nanny Mo.
And now we all exist;
Together.
