Mom Poem by Josh Dyczewski

Mom

I did not know how true pain felt
Until you were taken from me.
Now I'm followed by this shadow of heartache
From which I can't break free.
On this day I will not dwell on
Things I cannot change.
The shattered pieces on the floor
I'll pick up and re-arrange.
You were the nicest, sweetest, most loving person
That I ever knew.
You always put others before yourself
And always could come through.
You were always extra nice to me
Even when I didn't deserve it.
Your patience, morals, and lessons taught
I never will forget.
You were spiritual and open-minded
I learned so much from you.
The memories and time we spent
Forever I'll hold true.
I'm so happy you got to meet Sophie
And spend some time with her.
She knows about you and will always love you
This I can assure.
I am the luckiest guy in the world
To have had you for a Mother.
You were perfect in every single way
Unmatched by no other.
So on this Mothers Day, here without you
It's tearing me apart.
For you are not gone, you are still alive
Forever inside my heart.
