Mom Poem by Warren Augustus de Guzman

Mom

Rating: 5.0

I saw you today on the curve of the road,
Going to the place you go to everyday.
You waived hello and bid farewell,
“Just like the beattle song”, you used to say.

I flashed a sharp, teeth full smile at you,
To brighten you up as you made your way.
You smiled back with an equal number of teeth,
And threw your head back so your hair would sway.

I jumped in motion and grabbed up a daisy,
And sprinted to you to ask you to stay.
You whispered to the wind, “such a sweet guy,
But I have no time to sit down and play.”

I sighed a deep sigh and waved you goodbye,
And watched as you disappeared into the day.
“I’ll see you at dinnertime, I’ll bake lasagna,
We’ll sit down and chat, I’ve lots to say.”
