Moon And Star Poem by Sarah Mc Cabe

Moon And Star

Sparkling high above, the star winks at the moon
Glowing back, the moon plays its own, silent lullaby tune
Meeting in the darkness the sky is like their own private date
Not quite understanding why they meet every night, secretly imagining it has to do with fate
They stare at each other and everything disappears without trace
Hoping that this will always be their simple hiding place
The star twinkles like a diamond, her beauty standing out as one
The moon has a masculine, cool demeanor and outshines the sun
The blanket of light sweeps across and they begin to feel incomplete
Their emotions overwhelm them, and it is the longing for the next night when again they will meet
