Moonshadow

I Am Moon Shadow

I am Moon Shadow young, yet strong.
I wonder if we will ever bring mother over here.
I hear the glass brake as the demon boys brake the window.
I see father flying his glider.
I want to see my father fly someday.
I am Moon Shadow young, yet strong.

I pretend that the demon boys don’t scare me.
I believe that someday father will become a dragon again.

I touch the ashes of the fire that burned.
I worry that we won’t find someplace to be

I cry to see my mother again.
I am Moon Shadow young, yet strong.

I understand that I must help my father build Dragonwings.
I say that we have a good chance of making father fly.
I dream about father being a dragon.
I hope that father, mother, and I can live happily together.
I am Moon Shadow young, yet strong.
