Morning Rendering Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Morning Rendering

Solemn ice blue sky
then invades two eagles high
tree limbs bow to their ballet
so elegant as they fly away.
Heaven bound they seem, flying over the tallest tree
In search of freedom where we long to be.
Magnificent birds in honor we claim
how proudly we boast as we call their name,
A bird of prey it has been said,
so beautiful with white feathered head
our symbol we hasten to say
strong and keen of eye as they fly away.
We watch in awe as they fly with grace
We salute each one as they bring a smile
To our nation's face.
