Most Of Us Poem by Francis Duggan

Most Of Us

Most of us would live our lives differently if we could turn back time
If we did have another chance for to live in our lives prime
But old father time keeps ticking and for us does not wait
And soon far sooner than we think we will reach our use by date
There is no second chance of life or so it does appear
And it is not death but the fear of death that we only do fear
For death it is a part of life since we are born to die
In that respect the greats of human history no different to you or i,
Her or his name will live forever you hear some people say
But perhaps in centuries of time even the great names will go to time's decay
Most of us would live our lives differently if at life we had a second chance
Some may wish to be remembered as a figure of romance
Or to be a wealthy person or be looked upon as great
But old father time keeps ticking on and for none does ever wait.
