Mother's Day Without Mom... Poem by Stephen De Marino

Mother's Day Without Mom...

Rating: 4.7

I am thinking of Mom today
It is Mother's day after all
Seems criminal she is not here to share it
There will be no call during the Big Game
Teasing me when her team scores
There will be no apple tree wierdness
In the name of pets in our house
It is sad in the face of it all
That she will not get her chance
To play the role her mother did
Matron of our clan
She will not see her grandchildren
With paint streaked hair
And mud caked knees
Spend their summers in gambol
I know she watches
In that I have faith
But I miss her energy
It's Mother's Day after all.
