Mother's Love... Poem by Deepak Calyampoondi

Mother's Love...

The greatest fortune bestowed upon mankind,
to give us all a mother who is so kind,
Her devotion to us from when we are in her womb,
The unlimited love showered on us, thus we bloom.

Nothing in this world is is more valuable,
In monetary terms it is never evaluable,
for her love to us is always considerable,
Regardless of our deeds good or bad,
we are always caressed by our mother's care.

Her love which is timeless,
There is a story from all times,
Here's a one which i would like to share,
yet another evidence to prove that her love does dare.

When the great quake struck the lands of Japan,
Calamity spread all over, rather in a very large span.
Loss of lives and families seperated by fate,
Don't really know why the Gods had so much to hate.

Clearing the debris, a woman was found,
with her posture, kneeling to the ground,
perhaps her last prayer, is what they thought,
not knowing the real battle which she had fought.

Her arms were clenched, with her back bent,
It was her only answer, for the wrath the God had sent.
When her arms were opened, they realised what she had done,
There lay her sleeping boy, yes she saved her only son.
