Mother's Warning Poem by lola cesini

Mother's Warning

Rating: 5.0

When first you saw an eagle fly
Like wings, flapping your arms you tried
You thought of soaring, of touching the sky
Of getting there faster, than chitah's stride

But once achieved, you could not stop
Faster than sound was not enough
You felt you had to beat the sun
Faster than light you had to run

Beware my son, my brainy child
Take better care to not run wild
It's out of love that I'm allowing
Ozone holes and global warmings

To give you time to think of things
My lenient nature has let you taint
Don't try to improve the sand of time
For out of balance yourself will find

A mother's love although endures
Still has limits and must ensure
That all her children are kept safe
Not just those who can meditate.
