Motherhood
No one to rear
No one to reprimand
No one there -
My attention to demand.
No one to hold
No one to cherish
No one to pamper
No one to console.
Not a thing to do
Nothing to look forward to
Just ambling along -
Carrying the burden of life.
Life has become a void -
A journey through loneliness
Bereft of the gleeful laughter
Of my little girl
The girl has learnt to fly
And has flown the nest
Flown to a haven
She calls her own.
Her tears -
She has learned to wipe
In her joy -
I have scant space.
She has a life ahead
I cling to memories.
The future beckons her
The past is my solace.
Motherhood has been -
A roller- coaster ride
Had its pitfalls
The icing on the cake too.
Could I have savoured
Those special moments
By wishing away the pain?

a nice depiction of the pain and sorrows a mother has to bear silently for no fault of her ........ oh, sorry sorry for containing the child - for feeding the breast - for caring -for blessing -for being a mother.................................. for so many crimes! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Motherhood is definitely A roller - coaster ride. Both pitfall and icing on cake too... Enjoying each moment is definitely wonderful..There is nothing like it..Beautiful way you have portrayed. Loved reading it.
