Moths Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Moths

Beautiful, stunning
Creatures lost
Without a place to go

Trapped, flying in fury
Frantically searching for an escape
Illusions flash all around

Horror sinks in
Thoughts racing
Will they ever return

Do moths even remember
Where they live, who they were with
Do they even know this is not their home

Beautiful, stunning
Under all the colors of brown
Under their hard, protective shell

Hidden beneath white powder
Designs mask your face; all your emotion
Searching through all the commotion

Beautiful, stunning
Creatures lost
Without a place to go

Just like humans
Looking for their souls
