The sad truth is, forgiveness will never come easy
And in this state of mind, never
So let go of the pain
Let go of the guilt that cuts so deep
Into the soul like a relentless killer
Poised to strike when least expected
The rage that consumes
Must be left behind
In the shadows of doubt and ignorance
Always following me
Distance will serve us well
Only love can mend this self-hate
Only time can make me forget what I’ve done to you
So let the clock tick
The test of my progress begins
