Movie Making Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Movie Making

Rating: 4.5

Upon a street called Michigan Ave.
I traveled as I often do
Prepared to have a family rendezvous

Traffic slowly shifted to the left
Parking spaces on the right were unavailable…
Business merchandise was unattainable

Huge shiny white moving vans occupied spaces
Loading… rather than delivering a shipment
Filling with unfamiliar high tech equipment

Curiosity held each driver’s concentration…
Men methodically assembled strange gear
While brake lights simultaneously appeared

Turning with a green arrow… normalcy commenced
The unusual scene disappeared from rearview
As wonderment lingered…like perplexing glue

The evening paper revealed a clue
Hollywood had made an appearance in town
A filming crew was making our niche renown…

When I go to the movie theater to see
'Betty Anne Waters' starring Hillary Swank
I’ll be looking for familiar scenes that fill in the blanks
