Moving On Ahead
You expected of me so much,
More than I could deliver
And from me you got the most
But you gave me very little in return.
You thought the World
Evolves all around you
Forgetting that life
As well as love
Is a two-way street!
Through you I have learned
The hard and painful ways,
No to depend on anyone
That fits your description.
I learned to love myself
More than anyone else
But still caring and loving
The rest of the World!
Now, I can't afford
To waste my precious time
On something that is not love
But just a game!
Please! Leave me alone
And get a new player
To join you in your game,
It is time for me to move on!

It is said that loving yourself is the greatest love of all - I think it is more about having respect for oneself, without self-respect you can have little respect for others. An excellent write Romeo.
The pangs of unrequitted love is terrible. The poem breathes out strong feelings of resentment and at the same time suggests solutions to free oneself of any sense of remorse and be happy in oneself! Powerful write! !
