Mr. Betrayer Poem by Ivan Chizurum Ezeigbo

Mr. Betrayer

Mr. Betrayer
Why did you save my number in your phone and dial?
You come to knock at my front door
I open and you battle me to the floor

Mr. Betrayer, can I ask for just one favor
Please don't let me taste your deadly savor
You've taken my parts but don't take her too
I told her I loved her and I still do

Mr. Betrayer, what evil enabled you see me today
To unrest the pillow on which I lay
You come over and touch me with your soft hair
But when I close my eyes, you make me feel its sharp tips, making me see you didn't care

Mr. Betrayer, what else do I have but you to fear
As you come, rushing towards me like a mountain deer
Forgive me that, initially, I didn't believe in you
Which I suspected might have stimulated your wicked sinew
