My Achebe Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

My Achebe

Rating: 5.0

You wowed me with your piece
On Hopes and Impediments.
At the time Africa wanted peace
Our lives were No Longer At Ease;
Africans were like Girls At War
With the colonial masters and all..
Who had Trouble With Nigeria

The true son of Ogidi
Very strong like the Anthills Of The Savannah
You were truly a Man Of The People;
Shared with all like Christmas in Biafra
And fought with the Arrow of God
When you saw Things Fall Apart
Because you have joined the ancestral world.

Beautiful tribute to a literary icon of monumental proportion. An insightful memorial nicely brought forth with conviction. Thanks for sharing Dominic. May your future be greater than your past and present would let you dream of.
