My Africa Poem by Zimkitha Dreamhouse

My Africa

Rating: 5.0

She is like an Ashanti, her skin kisses the black of the stars.
Her smile is dry with character like the rivers of her mother land.
Her eyes gaze upon the sun that has a scorche and has seen the history of her man kind.
Her hands burst with veins filled with the pain of her mothers and sisters.
Her walk walks with her hips like the rhythms of life and breathe.
Her hair is her pride and her crown.
Her presence makes a thousand giant elephants bowdown to her worthiness.
Her soulfulness her soft caress and her baby is at her back.
Her Africa is in her tears of the scarce rain and pleading of the dead.
Her Africa is in her shape, her size her body her pride.
Her Africa is in the soulness of her tongue, the gracefulness of her sounds.
Her Africa is her. Everything she is everything in memory

A trully inpirational and wel thought-out out poem representing the natural splendor that is Africa, In this poem Africa seems to take a look at herself and say YES i've been scorched and my rivers ran dry in the wintery months but as my surface is kissed by the black stars I shall awaken in pride and majesty, two words I associate with the lion. a wonderful poem indeed

I love your Africa - rough, rugged, beautiful and powerful with her incredible flora, fauna, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. She is indeed one of nature's greatest gifts to the planet. Unfortunately, like everything else on this beautiful earth, she has been subjected to man', s blind greed and selfishness. Keep singing your beautiful hymns to her. She should always be praised and her pristine beauty should never be forgotton. Thanks for this poem. I really enjoyed it.
