My Brother. Poem by Cameron Gallant

My Brother.

John was a really nice guy
But John is always on the fly
He’ll come in a second
Only to check-in

John is my older brother
I love him as much as my mother
But he’ll come in for a glimpse
Before carting away

John is a really hard worker
He works to keep us in quarters
But I miss the stories
And I miss his laughter

John is a really good guy
But I never see him ‘cause he’s on the fly
So I’m praying this now
So he can come back.
