My Candle Light Poem by Jodilee Duke

My Candle Light

Gone again
out of my sight,
yet stuck in my head.

Where does this all lead to?
Down a river's way?
Splashed into mist?
Moved by rocks?

All seems so gray!

Each day we come
Each day we pray,
that things will never be done.

We know the ways
We know the waves,
and the way rocks create sways.

Together we hold
inside and out
but not as in fold,
more as in a letting go.

Just hopping on one leg
drawing with one hand,
tracking with one eye,
swimming in one ear,
seeking the sunlight.

Your Candle Light It drifted to the pen the flickering light, from yellow to red. So much though comes through of each flame’s play, in fancy true gist like golden winking locks. Everything of its way! So much where it's from it’s never to stay, only twinkling in its spun. Like fires of yesterdays, that life sometimes craves in its many times plays The stories that were told, with so much about; under glimmering fires gold, and its sparkling glow I remember mumblety-peg and fires in darkish bland, As a boy with a scout's tie And friendship so very dear, When days were young at night.

very familiar thoughts, especially the doing things with only half of you (one leg, ear etc) ...i liked this, depressing, but thoughtful...sort of a questioning poem. good job
