My Childhood Prince Poem by Fritzie Abella

My Childhood Prince

Remember us in childhood glimpse,
when days were filled with childish bliss.
it's funny how time flies in a blink
until we're nothing but strangers.

Over the years of high and low
we somehow conquered through.
until distance became our foe
we blindly let love go.

Being with you was the sweetest.
caresses and intimate glances,
the first touch, the first kiss-
all are magical keepsakes.

Everybody has a first love
memoir of promises sublime
somewhere down the memory lane,
i saw you holding my hand.

Rescue me, my childhood prince.
save me from throb and numbness.
i thought you'd come in shining armor,
so I waited along the shore.

Trust me when I confess,
i've loved you beyond words.
first love shines and sparkles
like it's always meant to last forever.

Only you has the answer
will it be a sad or happy ending?
i still believe in fairytale,
for you were once my childhood prince.

...ahh, that sweet sweet first love. Its greatest magic is you thinking it will last forever.
