My Dark Room Poem by Anna Rheana Machin

My Dark Room

A dark room
Chained to the wall
I sit and wait
Trying to get out
Yelling for help
Trapped in here
I think of a thousand ways
to show you how I really care
I’m standing here searching for
something that isn’t there
I’m reaching out
to touch you face
I wake up and see
an empty space
I see your message
And hear your call
Each time I see you
I fall
More in love with you
Can you feel it too?
Is it an empty space
In my heart?
Too many times
Scarred and torn apart
I hear noises in the dark
A beast and its loose
In my soul
