My Dear Demon Poem by Ashleigh Root

My Dear Demon

This demon is all that remains with me. This demon is slowly taking over my body. Why can't it leave me alone? All these lies corrupt my mind. Making me believe that I'm nothing. Why won't you just leave me alone? ! These once enchanting icy-blue eyes are now a subtle pale grey. My once beautiful curly brown hair is now deep black. What has become of me? ? Why demon? Why? Look at what you've made me. My personality is as dull as the knife you used to cut my throat. I'm slowly dying. Why did you leave me here to rot, dear demon? Can't you see that I need you? You're the only one around. I'm steadily falling in love with the demon that rests in my soul.
