My Dear Sweet Buddy Poem by Katie Champeau

My Dear Sweet Buddy

Rating: 5.0

I have cried myself to sleep,
I've whispered your sweet name.
Nothing I do, will bring you back.
My pain is all in vain.
If heaven is really there,
and you can see my heart,
help me ease this pain,
of love cut so short.

I gaze at your pictures,
of times that now have passed.
Please help me understand,
why you had to leave so fast.

I found you in a broken home,
where all you knew was fear.
I was in the same pain,
a few months before,
I saw your sweet face here.

The years have passed,
but still I sit and cry.
I've lost my best friend,
and I had to help him die.

My sweet Buddy, I miss
your barks, your love and kiss.
It's everyday that I find,
it's you I really miss.

You saved me from pain,
and abuse through the years,
I saved you too,
our lives entwined by fear.

I held you close,
right until the end.
I watched your eyes fade,
as you departed for heaven.

Please my dear sweet boy,
watch down on me and smile,
one day I promise you,
I'll walk the stairs you did.
I'll sit next to you,
side by side, like we always did.

Aha, so Buddy was a dog. Good poem. You'll be a good lament poet. Keep doing well.

It's always very sad to lose a pet, and you have expressed your feelings so well here in this lovely poem.
