My Dearest Brother, You Have Heard Wrong

Rating: 4.8

Oh dearest brother,
You trust everybody,
But I ask you this,
Could you trust me?

Could you trust a liar,
To tell you the truth?
Could you trust a thief,
To not steal from you?

My wise brother,
You ask so much of everyone,
You expect the battle to be over,
Before it has even begun.

Could you ask a warrior,
To abandon his sword?
Could you ask a rogue,
To stay true to his word?

My dearest brother,
You are to naïve,
You befriend everyone,
And in them you will believe.

Could you believe in a dreamer,
Whose head is stuck in the clouds?
Could you believe in a sinner,
Whose eyes are blinded with shrouds?

My only brother,
I am all of these things,
Yet you still see me,
As a girl with angel wings.

I lie to those who will not believe me,
I dream everywhere I go,
I steal from those who have plenty,
And about sins I certainly know.

My brother,
You have heard wrong,
I am not perfect,
I am not strong.
