My Debt Is Paid Poem by Jocelynn Halbauer

My Debt Is Paid

I lie atop my bed
Waiting for tomorrow
Thinking of what you said
My eyes seeping with sorrow
My heart has stopped, is dead
The pain has just begun
With just one prayer atop my head
I pray for you, my fallen one
My words come out as cold as lead
But I hope to god that you will hear
That though your desires weren't fed
I still love you so, my dear
And now my hands are dripping red
And these memories start to fade
These wounds are new. But i've always bled
And finally my debt is paid
