My Eternal Rest Poem by David McLansky

My Eternal Rest

Rating: 5.0

I don't recall my prebirth years
A billion years ago
I must confess anxious tears
That time did not run slow
Now that life has run it's course
I see my own decay
Eternity is a long long time
To simply waste away.

You know you can take my breath away by your words. I will not allow your taking a BREAK, on my watch... nope! Try again... : D xox

I cannot recall a time on the net, that you were not an integral part; Poems numbered, your rhymes in a set, Before I even came along to start. We came to meet through mutual friends In our happy place, a land of metaphor, Where when one ends, another begins; There, for me, you became a mentor. I've seen you up and down, day to day, Like a phoenix, you would rise and stroke; When life's battles brought it your way, You'd calm the storm, in jest or joke. For now, let's let the laughter suspend; When that platform returns, time'll tell. More important, to see you on the mend. Mind if I pull up a chair and sit a spell?
