My Evening Prayer Poem by Venkateswaran Krishnan Sreenivasan

My Evening Prayer

My evening prayer

Needed by my body and prodded by my mind
And tickled by my senses all from behind
Whatever my intellect dictates by nurture
I supplicate to the Lord the force of Nature

For any deed committed by the hands and feet
Or the body as a whole or a feat
Designed and fulfilled by the mind
Eyes and ears against humankind
I implore and bow to the Lord to rain the shower
Of mercy on me, the Omnipotent Power!
