My Execution Poem by Joy Davis

My Execution

A rusty silver nail
Piercing the stained wall
An old rope tightening
Preventing my fall.

Menacing eye watching
Flashin with dark furry
Throwing a thousand daggers
Leaving only my soul to burry.

The cold dampness
Of the musty brown air
My lungs collapsing
But scream, I do not dare

My life falling
Right before me
Describing a sad story
With no freedom and no key.

To unlock such a past
Would be a breath taking mistake
So leave me to die
Alone for love's sake.
