My Eyes Poem by Michael Ernst

My Eyes

Rating: 2.5

My eyes have seen sunrise's and sunsets
Blue skies and gray
Rainbows after the storm
Once thundery clouds moved away

They've seen glowing moonlit nights
And nights so dark you could'nt see
Tears of love, joy, and of sorrow
Some shed over me

My eyes have observed the miracle of birth
And watched helplessly
As crimsom streams of life returned to mother earth

These eyes have looked into eyes full of hope
And others paralyzed with fear
They've been blessed with a lovers smile
And cursed by a childs tears

And I don't know which is worse anymore
To have them open, or closed
