My Father

tall and strong
with a twinkle in the eye.
as a young boy when I look back,
myself as a child
All I can find is the love and fulfillment
he has given me
zest and commitment.
What he taught cannot be bought
Arm's protecting
Arm's shielding
hands to teach
to the highest
Goal to reach
