My Favorite Foods Poem by Mark J. Schulte

My Favorite Foods

Jimmy Bradley, the well known NYC restauranteur, and Rebecca Babcock are getting married in Stowe, VT this weekend and having the rehersal dinner at the Trapp Family Lodge. So I penned this verse for the von Pio Family singers (Sung to 'My Favorite Things')

Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Jimmy's in love, I'd say Jimmy is smitten.
Jimmy's not focused on res-tau-rant things.
That's why the Red Cat serves Buffalo Wings!

Cream colored sirloin and flat apple streudel;
he's serving Gen'ral Cho's Schnitzel with noodles!
Wild bats are sauteed and served with their wings.
No one's controlling his a-p(a) -ron strings.

(Refrain) :

When the wine's turned,
When the beef's burned,
When I'm feeling mad.
I simply remember that Jimmy's in love,
And then it don't taste soooo... bad!

While he's preparing these nuptial bashes;
the food at the Harrison gives Zagat rashes.
So from all your patrons, without seeming rude:
Jimmy, O Jimmy get back to the food.

Go to: (Refrain)
